The upgraded Stellar network is here!

The software features crucial code improvements. It uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP), which has several safety properties that secure the network against forking. The code is also more elegant: Less than half the size of the previous codebase, Stellar Core now runs faster, uses less memory, and stores data more simply—all with a much simpler, cleaner API.

This smaller, faster codebase supports a network for a truly global economy. Developers all over the world can run Stellar Core on machines with a range of processing power and Internet accessibility. The upgraded network is ready for developers to build the world’s new financial services. We can't wait to see what the Stellar community will create.

Here’s how to upgrade:

  1. Sign in at launch.stellar.org.
  2. Click the Upgrade button.
  3. Save/copy your secret key. Please store your secret key privately. Stellar.org does not have a record of your secret key.
  4. Go to the account viewer. Enter your secret key to access your account and participate on the network.

Protect your secret key—anyone who has it can access your account.
