We’re living through a defining moment in United States history and for many of us, our own lives. The racial tensions we're experiencing in this country are a reckoning, calling on each of us to think about the roles we play in society and the difference we want to make.
Our organization was founded on the belief that inequities and disenfranchisement from the global financial system MUST be solved and we believe technology is part of the answer. Our mission is premised on the belief that we can make a difference in creating a more just and equitable world.
As the horrific scenes have unfolded over the past week, highlighting longstanding inequities in the United States, we’ve tried to stay focused on our work and the role we can play in impacting systemic change as it pertains to economic equality. But after discussing in our internal all hands meeting, several team members expressed a concern that our silence could be mistaken for complicity, apathy, or ignorance.
We want to make it clear that we stand in solidarity with protestors and work in parallel with those who seek equality. We know and believe that real change is needed both in the United States and around the world.
And we believe the next steps to solve inequality and injustice is both about what we say and about what we do. Our focus is, has been, and will continue to be working towards an equitable, just world using technology as the driver. At SDF, as global citizens, we are committed to this mission and the work ahead to be the change we want to see in the world.
