About The U.S. Department of Commerce

The U.S. Department of Commerce provides a variety of programs and services to assist U.S. companies market their products overseas.

The Department's U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service (US&FCS) currently maintains offices in 68 foreign countries (at 133 locations) and 44 U.S. states plus Puerto Rico (67 domestic offices) with a total staff of some 1,250 employees all working to help American firms export.

All export marketing assistance programs and services of the U.S. Department of Commerce are especially designed to assist small and medium-sized companies and are available to Connecticut and Rhode Island firms through the US&FCS Hartford District Office or the Providence Branch Office.
